Hi! Welcome to my website!
I specialize in working with teens and young adults, helping them navigate the challenges and uncertainties in their lives. I understand the various issues that young people face, including anxiety, stress, depression, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, social struggles, self-esteem concerns, and parenting challenges.
In addition, I have experience working with neurodivergent teens and young adults. I’ve found that my casual style, sense of humor, and relaxed approach often help me build strong rapport with these clients, making therapy feel safe, collaborative, and effective.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas in 1993, a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Disorders from UT Dallas in 1995, and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston in 2002.
My approach to therapy is casual and rooted in cognitive-behavioral principles, focusing on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. I also incorporate humor to create a comfortable and non-threatening environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings. This approach empowers clients to make positive changes in their lives while developing a deeper understanding of themselves.
Basically, I’m here to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment. Whether you are seeking a change for a more confident and joyful life or simply need a non-judgmental ear to listen, I am here to support and encourage you!
